Our Roots Run Deep:
Trace the vibrant history of Gullah Geechee people directly from the shores of Bunce Island, Sierra Leone, to the ports of South Carolina and Georgia during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in the 1700s. The Gullah Geechee community played a pivotal role in founding Freetown, Sierra Leone, in 1792, establishing a profound two-way connection between these two rich cultures.

Our Journey

The community incorporated a 501c3 Nonprofit organization registered in the United States and Sierra Leone. We actively bridge communities through impactful programs.
